“Phoenix Dream Days” wins more awards, launches new webisodes featuring a mayor and a nightlife expert

Things have been so busy here at Generation Idea Media that we haven’t had the time to share all of the great things that have been going on with our “Phoenix Dream Days” project…

First up, some awards excitement… We just learned that the series, which we are producing for the Greater Phoenix Convention & Visitors Bureau, won a Telly Award in the Travel/Tourism category.  The series also recently won an Adrian Award, presented by the HSMAI (Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International), which honors travel marketing excellence.

Secondly, two new webisodes of “Phoenix Dream Days” are now live on the on the Phoenix CVB’s website as well as in the client section of Generation Idea Media’s website and on YouTube.  We spent an action-packed day with Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon, doing everything from enjoying one of the finest lattes in town to running through a noodle forest (yes, you read that right, a “noodle forest”) . With Arizona Republic Nightlife Editor Megan Finnerty, we let her expertise lead the way, producing our first Dream Night, indulging in a bruschetta menu as long as my arm, a legendary steak restaurant, and Old Town Scottsdale’s energetic bar and club scene.

“Phoenix Dream Day” videos win W3 Award

w3_silver_statueWe just found out that the first season of our “Phoenix Dream Days” video series won a W3 Award!  We are honored that this series, produced for the Greater Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau, took home a trophy!

For those of you who may not be familiar with the W3 Awards, here’s how they describe themselves…

“The W3 Awards honors creative excellence on the Web, and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award winning Websites, Web Video and Online Marketing programs. Simply put, the W3 is the first major Web competition to be accessible to the biggest agencies, the smallest firms, and everyone in between. Small firms are as likely to win as Fortune 500 companies and international agencies.

The W3 Awards is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms. Please visit www.iavisarts.org for a full member list and additional information.”

Phoenix Dream Days Webisode #3 now live and available on Phoenix CVB website, YouTube, and iTunes

Kathy Cano-Murillo, better known to many as the Crafty Chica, shared a whirlwind day with us for her Phoenix Dream Day, the third webisode in the fast-paced documentary series produced for the Greater Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau’s website that is now available online.  Among the litany of activities, Kathy took us to a farm right in the heart of Phoenix with breakfast that incorporates ingredients grown right there on the farm, a Mexican grocery store unlike any grocery store you have ever seen before, and a restaurant where just about every dish revolves around fried dough.

This webisode, along with the series’ first two featuring Iron Chef champion Mark Tarbell and local fashion designer Angela Johnson, can be seen on the Phoenix CVB’s website.  They are also available on YouTube (Click here to view Kathy’s video on YouTube) and as podcasts on iTunes.

Phoenix CVB’s “Dream Days” web video series goes live with second webisode, featuring local fashion designer Angela Johnson

“Angela Johnson’s Phoenix Dream Day” is now live on the Greater Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau’s website, at http://www.visitphoenix.com/dreamday.  She took us to some awesome places to shop and see art, as well as a delicious new Asian tapas restaurant in downtown Phoenix.  You’ve also got to check out Angela’s fashion work – she’s known for her t-shirt ballgowns, which are just so cool.

We are shooting webisode #3 this weekend.  More information on that soon.

Phoenix Dream Days Webisode #2, featuring local fashion designer, heads into post production

We just finished up shooting webisode #2 for the Phoenix Dream Days project for the Greater Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau. After a successful project launch with Mark Tarbell last week, we’ve now got our sleeves rolled up in post production for the next webisode, featuring Phoenix fashion designer Angela Johnson.  (She makes these really cool t-shirt ballgowns, unlike anything you’ve ever seen.)  Angela’s dream day took us to some unique Phoenix boutiques, a smoking new Asian restaurant, and some amazing spots in the local arts scene.  Stay tuned to the blog for news of the launch of webisode #2, as well as news on who will be the subject of webisode #3.
